For years I have been a 60 pushups/minute man. I thought that was okay for an old guy… at least that was my justification. Then someone suggested I do 10 pushups, slowly and perfectly and see how that goes.

It was a good idea but not a nice experience. It was so hard to do slow pushups that I felt like a beginner. I did not feel so smug any more. The damn truth always seems to get in the way to spoil a good illusion.

So if you think you can get fitter by half doing your exercises, you are probably right, but it will take you twice as long and that’s really dumb!

Don’t rush through your exercises, slow down, take a little longer and perhaps you will get there a little faster.
