Monotonous gym jogging
I do not understand how running on a conveyor belt is better than running outside in the fresh air. If you run in the streets, your ankles will have to work as you cross the varied terrain, one minute it’s bitumen, then onto the grass verge, along the gutter and maybe some gravel.
All of this time your body is twisting, tightening and releasing as it adjusts to the terrain. What happens in the gym? You run on a conveyor belt, breathe in stale air and instead of filling your mind with the sights and sounds of outside, you get stuck in the groove of the same old music that pours into your ears and dulls your senses.
Get out into the real world and let your body move to the groove of real life, let your lungs puff and pant as your body works to compensate for the natural variations in the landscape.
